Letter of Gratitude: Adeline

Dear Adeline,

Every week I send out a letter of gratitude. I firmly believe that everyone is meant to teach you something about yourself and help you become a better person in some way, physically, mentally, emotionally or spiritually. This week, my letter is dedicated to you.

We met in Hong Kong and had a LOT of laughs! I remember admiring your free spirit. I’m a bit uptight and ultra-controlled so it was refreshing to be in the company of someone that just trusts the flow. I hope you never lose that part of you!

For whatever reasons, we lost touch and I was over the moon excited when we reconnected last year. I LOVE relationships that come back together. Especially since it usually means that things will be that much stronger. I admire your ability to accept me and my colourful emotions. Sometimes misunderstood, I always come from a place of love.

Sometimes I struggle to befriend girls. Outside of my athletic circles, girls had been the root cause of a lot of suffering. I think our reunion was a reminder for me to be less judgemental and more open to female relationships. Thanks for being supportive and understanding of all the things happening in my life! My strength comes from supportive friends, whether it’s replying to a message, sending ‘random’ positive vibes or simply listening when I feel like I’m unraveling.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for being a friend. We might live on opposite sides of the world but I GREATLY appreciate your interest in my life. Thank you for being AMAZING. Thank you for helping me trust others. Thank you for having a big heart. Thank you for reminding me of the importance of forgiveness. I’m lucky to call you my friend. Thanks for coming back into my life!

With lots of love and positive vibes.

Your friend (always),
Jess
